Lea Rivera on Oil/Chalk Pastel Painting.
Saturday June 11at 12 noon

Visual artist Lea Rivera would do a pastel painting activity of the different subjects of the Philippines. One session, kids may choose from the different landmarks or places of interest like the Mayon Volcano or things found only in the Philippines such as the jeepney. This will focus on the modern Philippines. The second session, she would ldo the same activity with the subjects that go back in time during the era of Rizal. Subjects would include the Dr. Jose Rizal, a Kalesa, or the dresswear during that time. Once the pastel paintings are finished, students can place their artwork in a handmade bamboo frame that can also be designed by the student. I haven’t decided if I wanted to do both the modern Philippine subjects and the old Philippines or if I just want to concentrate only on one of them such as Old Philippines. The general  activity would be Oil/Chalk Pastel Painting of the Philippines.
